U.S. Army paratrooper, Pvt. Philip Rebelo, a native of Rocky Point, N.Y. assigned to Dog Company, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, and Lithuanian Land Forces engineer, Pvt. Evaldas Dabuzin, a native of Kaunas assigned to the General Engineer Coy, Juozas Vitkus Engineer Battalion, work together to fill sandbags during Exercise Engineer Thunder 2015 held at the Great Lithuanian Hetman Jonusas Radvila Training Regiment, in Rukla, Lithuania, Sep. 9, 2015. The training gave the 173rd Airborne Brigade the opportunity to train with engineers and learn how to best utilize their skills on the battlefield. Engineer Thunder will improve both countries’ ability to operate as a combined force, which increases NATO’s ability to deter aggressors, and is part of a larger, ongoing operation being conducted throughout Europe called Atlantic Resolve.
