150905-N-KA456-037 TRUJILLO, Honduras (Sept. 5, 2015) - A volunteer with the non-governmental organization (NGO) Latter-day Saints Charities (LDSC) gives a child new shoes at a community relations event held at Finca del Niño during Continuing Promise 2015 (CP-15). LDSC volunteers are working alongside other NGOs and joint-military personnel to complete the CP-15 mission. Continuing Promise is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored and U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet-conducted deployment to conduct civil-military operations including humanitarian-civil assistance, subject matter expert exchanges, medical, dental, veterinary and engineering support and disaster response to partner nations and to show U.S. support and commitment to Central and South America and the Caribbean.
