Rct. Dylan M. Keba, Platoon 2082, Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, rinses a gas mask Sept. 1, 2015, on Parris Island, S.C. Each mask is cleaned after it is used to prevent cross contamination. Keba, 18, from Streetsboro, Ohio, is scheduled to graduate Oct. 23, 2015. Today, approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
