Navy Capt. Tim Rascoll, the prospective commanding officer of Navy Air Logistics Office, based in New Orleans, and Springfield, Va., native, renders a salute during a change of command ceremony in Hangar 105 aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Aug. 29, 2015. Cmdr. Brian M. Olson, a San Diego native, took command of VR-51 from Cmdr. Kanan C. Ott, an Anaheim, Calif., native. Ott also received the Meritorious Service Medal during the ceremony. Change of command ceremonies are a part of the rich tradition of the Navy and Marine Corps, and help to instill a sense of culture and pride in the service members aboard MCB Hawaii, in an effort to further the installation's mission: to enhance and sustain combat readiness for all operating forces and tenant organizations aboard the installation.
