The Army Reserve’s 85th Support Command (SPT CMD), headquartered in the Chicagoland area, conducts a historical brief of the facility to a Congressional Staff Delegation site visit, Aug. 21. Additionally, the staff visit received a capabilities brief and the current issues that impacted Army Reserve soldiers. Among various points of discussion, key concerns from the leadership team, there, were soldier readiness and training dollars. The purpose of the brief was to increase congressional awareness of Army Reserve issues and initiatives. The staff visit additionally included a tour with Army Reserve units and training sites at Fort McCoy, Wis., which was followed by a tour at the Fort Sheridan Army Reserve Center before arriving to the 85th SPT CMD.
