Crawford Hicks, B-17 pilot, addresses the audience during a reception held at the museum in Warner Robins, Ga., Aug. 21. Hicks was shot down May 30, 1944, becoming a prisoner of war and was held captive until April 29, 1945. The reception honored veterans who served aboard B-17s and celebrated the arrival of a B-17 Flying Fortress which will be displayed at the museum. The engines, wings and tail section of the aircraft -- which arrived a day earlier -- were on display during the reception. At the event, several B-17 crew members shared their memories of the aircraft with nearly 200 attendees. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tommie Horton)
