KUWAIT (Aug. 18, 2015) U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Anthony Gomez (left) and Cpl. Christopher Jimerson perform routine maintenance on an Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV-7) before a live-fire and maneuver exercise. Gomez and Jimerson are both crewmen with Kilo Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). During the training, Marines engaged targets with the Browning .50 caliber machine gun at unknown distances from AAV-7. Elements of the 15th MEU are ashore in Kuwait for sustainment training to maintain and enhance the skills they developed during their pre-deployment training period. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
