150817-N-ZF498-060 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Aug. 17, 2015) – The visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) team scale the starboard side of the guided-missile destroyer USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) while conducting a boarding exercise and small boat operations. Forrest Sherman is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations as part of Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
