Lt. Gen. Charles Bolden presents Montford Point Marine John Rudders’ daughters with a Certificate of Status, Aug. 15, 2015, at the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel in Mobile, Ala. The Congressional Gold Medal is the highest civilian honor bestowed by Congress which was awarded to the Montford Point Marines in recognition of their service and achievements during a time of racial unrest.
