Chief Warrant Officer 4 James T. Averhart Jr. presents Lt. Gen. Richard Mills with an engraved baseball bat during the 50th Anniversary of the Montford Point Marines Association Aug. 12, 2015, at the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel in Mobile, Ala. Mills presented the families of Montford Point Marines Methone Cunningham and Thomas N. Reed with Certificates of Status and Congressional Gold Medals for their service and dedication to their country in a time of segregation.
