NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Aug 12, 2015) Indian navy Vice Adm. Surinder Pai Singh Cheema, flag officer commanding in chief of Western Naval Command, comes aboard the aircraft carrier Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) during a scheduled tour. Cheema, along with an Indian navy flag delegation, toured Gerald R. Ford with Rear Adm. Thomas Moore, program executive officer for aircraft carriers, and Capt. John F. Meier, commanding officer of PCU Gerald R. Ford. Earlier this year the U.S. and Indian navy announced a joint working group to share aspects of aircraft carrier technology and design.
