Australian soldiers with Delta Company, 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, Australian Army, Australian Defence Force, disembark a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, before helicopter raid training, Aug.7 at the Kangaroo Flats Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia. Australian soldiers along with Company C, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, MRF-D, used the bilateral training to familiarize both units with conducting a platoon-level assault on a simulated enemy encampment and securing intelligence. The rotational deployment in Darwin enables Marines to more effectively train, exercise and operate with their partners, enhancing regional security and building a capacity to respond more rapidly to natural disasters and crises throughout that region.
