Eric K. Fanning, acting under secretary of the Army, tours the division ready cage at Fort Bragg, N.C., Aug. 11. The division ready cage houses all the equipment the global response force of the 82nd Airborne Division would need if alerted to rapidly deploy over strategic distances world-wide. Fanning visited the post to observe both conventional and special operations capabilities first hand and to discuss concerns of the individual soldiers and commanders. Fort Bragg is the home of the nation's premier rapid deployment ground force, capable of deploying with little to no-notice anywhere in the world in 18 hours. (U.S. Army Photo by Staff Sgt.
