World War II veterans with the 4th Marine Division Association visited with Marines from the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing as they toured static displays of Marine Corps aircraft and equipment aboard Marine Corps Air Station New River Aug. 4. Sgt. Maj. William H. Oldenburg welcomed the veterans, spouses and other family members to the air station as they arrived for the tour. The association members and their families are visiting the air station, Camp Lejeune and the local community this week ahead of the unit's formal deactivation ceremony on Aug. 6 with the goal of engaging current Marines to symbolically pass the torch from one generation of Marines to another.
