150804-N-VR008-069 SAN DIEGO (Aug. 4, 2015) – Hull Technician Fireman Mathew Strawser, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), welds location numbers to watertight doors. America is currently undergoing a Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) in which the ship’s crew and assigned contractors make improvements to the ship’s design.
