Children listen intently to their jumpmaster while practicing actions inside the aircraft prior to “jumping” from the mock aircraft during 1st Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment’s Kids’ Day, July 31. An annual squadron event, Kids’ Day allows paratroopers assigned to 1-73rd Cav. Regt., 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, to show their children and spouses what it’s like to be a cavalry trooper, and have fun at the same time. Family members were able to see multiple weapons systems, ride in military vehicles and don T-11 parachutes. Of approximately 500 troopers in the unit, more than 130 families attended the event.
