First Lt. Alyssa Caylor, A Fire Direction Officer assigned to 3rd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, runs back and forth between the M119A3 howitzers and the Fire Direction Center to coordinate an emergency fire mission or “hip shoot” during the first Battalion Artillery Readiness Test in more than a decade. The BART, conducted from July 27 to 31on Fort Bragg, N.C., validated the Gun Devils’ ability to coordinate complex fire missions before assuming the Global Response Force in December. (Capt.
