INDIAN OCEAN (July 30, 2015) A U.S. Marine with Lima Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, engages his target during a deck shoot aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). The Marines practiced shooting form behind a barricade to simulate staying behind cover during a fire fight. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
