A United States Air Force C-130 aircraft comes to a stop at Hohenfels Training Area, July 29. The aircraft was used to test the capabilities of the recently resurfaced and extended Short Take Off Landing strip at Hohenfels, the only dirt airstrip in Germany capable of supporting aircraft as large as the C-130. Having this new capability allows for increased multinational training opportunities, such as the upcoming Swift Response 15, which will include several NATO Allies and more than 1,400 multinational participants.
