150727-N-IK337-052 NAVAL AIR STATION NORTH ISLAND, Calif. (July 27, 2015) - Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Airman Benjamin Berger, from San Diego, and Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Airman Brandon Briones, from Houston, install safety bars on the barricade stanchion on the flight deck of USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). The safety bars keep the barricade from collapsing while Sailors are completing maintenance on it. The Sailors from the John C. Stennis Strike Group are preparing for Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX), the final step before being certified for deployment.
