Staff Sgt. Charles Amerson, a section leader with the Wounded Warrior Battalion West-Detachment Hawaii and Tampa, Fla., native, assists Lance Cpl. Every Tuesday and Thursday, service members with the detachment participate in activities such as archery, swimming, track, shooting and cycling as part of the Warrior Athletic Reconditioning Program. The purpose of WARP is to help service members find hobbies and help maintain mental and physical fitness as they go through treatment and recovery. The mission of Marine Corps Base Hawaii is to provide facilities, programs and services in direct support of units, individuals and families in order to enhance and sustain combat readiness for all operating forces and tenant organizations aboard the installation.
