ARABIAN GULF (July 22, 2015) U.S. Marine Cpl. Curtis Russell shouts an alert with direction, description, range, assignment and control to his fire team during a short-range marksmanship qualification course aboard the dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47). Russell is a is team leader with Kilo Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The marksmanship course focused on improving Marine’s communication during combat shooting, as well as immediate action tactics, which prepare them for potential operations while deployed with the 15th MEU. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and is deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
