An 1,840 foot causeway, also known as a Trident Pier, was built because of an increase in tidal fluctuations to assist those participating in the Combined Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore (CJLOTS) 2015 exercise transport solid and liquid cargo from ship-to-shore on Amnyeon Beach, South Korea, June 29 through July 9. This was the largest built in CJLOTS history and the first one built by the U.S. Army.
