Emergency Medical Services' first responders from the El Paso Fire Department begin staging in preparation for treating casualties (volunteer role players) during Iron Response, an active shooter exercise that took place at the Soldier Resilience and Readiness Center on West Fort Bliss July 9. Emergency medical services and hospitals that collaborated in the exercise included: Border Regional Advisory Council, City of El Paso Emergency Management, El Paso County Sheriff, Elite Medical Transport EMS, Fort Hancock EMS, Life Ambulance Services, and El Paso Fire EMS.
