150714-N-YM856-346 BUENAVENTURA, Colombia (July 14, 2015) Volunteers with the non-governmental organization (NGO) University of California San Diego Pre-Dental Society (UCSD-PDS) perform a dental procedure on a patient at a medical site established at Coliseo Del Centro during Continuing Promise 2015. UCSD-PDS volunteers are working alongside other NGOs and joint-military personnel during CP-15. Continuing Promise is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored and U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet-conducted deployment to conduct civil-military operations including humanitarian-civil assistance, subject matter expert exchanges, medical, dental, veterinary and engineering support and disaster response to partner nations and to show U.S. support and commitment to Central and South America and the Caribbean.
