U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. Victor Garcia, 460th Medical Group medical technician, out of Buckley Air Force Base, Colo., demonstrates a drag carry during self-aid and buddy care training for the Trujillo Rescue Squad volunteers at a class in the mayor’s office in Trujillo, Honduras, July 11, 2015. The class was part of the overall New Horizons Honduras 2015 training exercise taking place throughout the region and features multiple projects that relate to the construction of a schoolhouse and the drilling of a well. New Horizons was launched in the 1980s and is an annual joint humanitarian assistance exercise that U.S. Southern Command conducts with a partner nation in Central America, South America or the Caribbean. The exercise improves joint training readiness of U.S. and partner nation civil engineers, medical professionals and support personnel through humanitarian assistance activities.
