150710-N-NK134-059 JUANCHACO, Colombia (July 10, 2015) - Capt. Wendy Boruszewski, a native of San Diego and dentist assigned to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Va., right, and a volunteer dental technician with the non-governmental organization (NGO) University of California San Diego Pre-Dental Society (UCSD-PDS), perform a dental exam on a patient at a medical site established at Himno Institution Educativa Juanchaco during Continuing Promise 2015 (CP-15). UCSD-PDS volunteers are working alongside other NGOs and military members during CP-15. Continuing Promise is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored and U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet-conducted deployment to conduct civil-military operations including humanitarian-civil assistance, subject matter expert exchanges, medical, dental, veterinary and engineering support and disaster response to partner nations and to show U.S. support and commitment to Central and South America and the Caribbean.
