KOKOPO, Papua New Guinea (July 8, 2015) A Kokopo community leader and Navy Cmdr. Eva Domotorffy, an advance on-site team planner from Alexandria, Va., put up posters at the Kokopo Fire Station during a family violence prevention workshop as part of Pacific Partnership 2015. Leaders from Kokopo and the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) conducted the workshop as part of the National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security. Mercy is currently in Papua New Guinea for its second mission port of PP15. Pacific Partnership is in its 10th iteration and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership missions to date have provided real world medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary services to more than 38,000 animals. Critical infrastructure development has been supported in host nations during more than 180 engineering projects. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Peter Reft/RELEASED)
