William Toronto, 28th Bomb Squadron deputy staff judge advocate and New Horizons Honduras 2015 staff judge advocate out of Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., visit Dr. Salvador Paredos Hospital Director Melissa Bonegas and Subdirector Xiomara Arita in Trujillo, Honduras, June 4, 2015. The hospital is one part of the New Horizons Honduras 2015 exercise which includes the construction of a two-classroom primary school in Ocotes Alto, a well in Honduras Aguan and medical support in Tocoa, Honduras. New Horizons was launched in the 1980s and is an annual joint humanitarian assistance exercise that U.S. Southern Command conducts with a partner nation in Central America, South America or the Caribbean. The exercise improves joint training readiness of U.S. and partner nation civil engineers, medical professionals and support personnel through humanitarian assistance activities.
