William Toronto, 28th Bomb Squadron deputy staff judge advocate and New Horizons Honduras 2015 staff judge advocate out of Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., visit Honduras Aguan Patranado Oscar Gomez at the site where New Horizons Honduras 2015 personnel will dig a well in Trujillo, Honduras, June 4, 2015. The well site is one part of the New Horizons exercise which includes the construction of a two-classroom primary school in Ocotes Alto, and medical support in Trujillo and Tocoa, Honduras. New Horizons was launched in the 1980s and is an annual joint humanitarian assistance exercise that U.S. Southern Command conducts with a partner nation in Central America, South America or the Caribbean. The exercise improves joint training readiness of U.S. and partner nation civil engineers, medical professionals and support personnel through humanitarian assistance activities.
