Children with the Department of Parks and Recreation Summer Fun Program, and Marines with Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting, Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, pose for a photo in front of a P-19R fire truck Wednesday at Waimanalo Beach Park. The children went to three stations supervised by the Marines where they tried on the firefighter's protective equipment, were taught how to extinguish a fire and were shown the tools firefighters use. The purpose of the event was to educate the children, who ranged in age from 5 to 13 and come from the Waimanalo area, in basic fire safety. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Adam O. Korolev/Released)
