U.S. Marines rehearse a beach landing July 8 on Dundee Beach in Fog Bay, Northern Territory, Australia, as part of Talisman Sabre 15. The exercise provides an invaluable opportunity to conduct operations in a combined, joint, inter-agency environment that will increase the U.S. and Australia’s ability to plan and execute contingency responses from combat missions to humanitarian efforts. This is the sixth iteration of the biennial exercise. This year features more than 33,000 U.S. and Australian personnel, 200 aircraft, 21 ships and three submarines coming to together in an exercise in force projection from the sea. Marines are with Company E, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Samantha Villarreal/photo released)
