Staff Sgt. Robert Sumner, a Marine recruiter with Recruiting Station Albany, directs Boys’ State participants into their graduation ceremony at the State University of New York, Morrisville, N.Y., Tuesday, July 1, 2015. Boys' State is a weeklong program run by the American Legion consisting of approximately 1,100 high school male juniors. The participants are hand selected by guidance counselors across New York and come together to make a faux government body with other males. The Marines served as mentors and chaperones for the duration of Boys’ State.
