GULF OF ADEN (June 30, 2015) Sailors and Marines participate in a spades tournament sponsored by the Navy’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) organization aboard Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Essex is the flagship for the Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
