Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of Vietnam's Communist Party, lands at Joint Base Andrews, Md., July 6, 2015, and is greeted by about 120 people, mostly Vietnamese-Americans waving flags of both countries, and some dressed in traditional Vietnamese attire. Trong is scheduled to meet with President Obama July 7, which will be the first visit at the White House since the two countries normalized relations about 20 years ago.
