U.S. Marines with 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, and Australian Defence Force PTE Lachlan Hough shoot an M240B medium machine gun at a static live-fire range June 27 during Exercise Koolendong at Bradshaw Field Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia. Koolendong is a bilateral combined arms training exercise that combines light infantry, indirect fire weapons systems and air assets during training events. The rotational deployment of U.S. Marines affords an unprecedented combined training opportunity with our Australian allies and improves interoperability between our forces.
