A U.S. Marine Corps M777A2 lightweight 155 mm howitzer with 3rd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment under the unit deployment program, fires a projectile in support of an air assault course June 29 at Bradshaw Field Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia. The AAC was a bilateral combined arms training event that included light infantry, indirect fire weapons systems and air assets to capture and fight through a mock enemy objective. The rotational deployment of U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force -Darwin affords an unprecedented combined training opportunity with our Australian allies and improves interoperability between our forces.
