An M777A2 lightweight 155 mm howitzer with 101st Battery, 8th/12th Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, Australian Army, fires a projectile in support of a U.S. Marine Corps air assault course June 29 at Bradshaw Field Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia. The AAC was a bilateral combined arms training event that combined light infantry, indirect fire weapons systems and air assets to capture and fight through a mock enemy objective. The Marine Rotational Force – Darwin deployment enables Marines to more effectively train, exercise, and operate with their Australian partners, enhance regional security and build the capacity to respond more rapidly to natural disasters and crises throughout the region.
