U.S. Marines with 3rd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine regiment under the unit deployment program, prepare to load an M777A2 lightweight 155 mm howitzer during a fire mission in support of an air assault course June 29 at Bradshaw Field Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia. The AAC was a bilateral combined arms training event that combined light infantry, indirect fire weapons systems and air assets to capture and fight through a mock enemy objective. U.S. Marines with comprise a competent expeditionary fighting force that is technically proficient, and culturally sensitive, and capable of responding to any crisis or contingency.
