GULF OF ADEN (June 29, 2015) U.S. Marines with India Battery, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, fire their weapons to establish a battlesight zero on the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Establishing a BZO ensures the weapon is consistent, allowing the Marines to use the fundamentals of marksmanship to engage their targets. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
