The community of Gatesville, Texas, once again outdid itself with the 4th annual Heart of Texas Salute to Warrior Citizens held on North Fort Hood, June 28. The event is organized by area churches and civic organizations to show Soldiers assigned to, or training at, North Fort Hood, just how much the community appreciates their sacrifice. The event included a free barbecue, horseback riding, face painting, and calf roping on man-made calf replicas.
