U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Ashley Anderson, Warrior Transition Battalion, Fort Riley, Kan., receives the bronze medal for the Women's 50-meter backstroke 6.0 swimming event at the 2015 Department of Defense Warrior Games at Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Va., June 27. Anderson also received a bronze medal in the Women's 100-meter freestyle 6.0, a bronze medal in Women's 50-meter breaststroke 6.0 and a silver medal in the Women's 50-meter freestyle 6.0 events. The DOD Warrior Games are held from June 19-28. The games are an adaptive sports competition for wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans. Approximately 250 athletes, representing teams from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Special Operations Command and the British Armed Forces will compete in archery, cycling, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track & field and wheelchair basketball.
