Service members with the Single Marine Program pick up trash along the streets surrounding Camp Foster during a gate cleanup June 20, in Ginowan, Okinawa, Japan. In an effort to maintain a clean image with the surrounding communities, the service members also remove trash from the streets in nearby neighborhoods. According to Durell Archie, the Camp Foster SMP coordinator, the cleanup is an excellent way to show the Okinawa residents that the Marines are committed to keeping the environment clean and maintaining a long lasting partnership.
