U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael Zemke, 823rd Expeditionary RED HORSE Squadron, out of Hurlburt Field, Fla., pavements and heavy equipment operator and Hilo, Hawaii native, moves cement via a Bobcat T250 so that U.S. Air Force Maj. William Toronto, 28th Bomb Squadron deputy staff judge advocate and New Horizons Honduras 2015 staff judge advocate out of Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., and others can scoop out the cement and pass it up to other members pouring it into a wood frame at the roof of the school in order to create the bond beam for the new two-room schoolhouse at the Gabriela Mistral primary school in Ocotes Alto, Honduras, June 22, 2015. The school project is one part of the New Horizons Honduras 2015, an annual humanitarian and training exercise put on by U.S. Southern Command. New Horizons was launched in the 1980s and is an annual joint humanitarian assistance exercise that U.S. Southern Command conducts with a partner nation in Central America, South America or the Caribbean. The exercise improves joint training readiness of U.S. and partner nation civil engineers, medical professionals and support personnel through humanitarian assistance activities.
