Nissan mechanical engineer Shogo Abe silently demonstrates his mastery of a Computer Aided Design (CAD) program as Soldiers from U.S. Army Japan observe his expert technique and total concentration as he designs a complex part in preparation for its physical assembly. Nissan invited their distinguished guests in uniform to see firsthand its employees' craftsmanship while learning more about one another's culture, history and heritage. Abe will put his CAD skills to the test when he represents Japan at the 2015 WorldSkills Olympics, the world's largest professional education event that attracts thousands of craftsmen from more than 50 countries to compete in various challenges from manufacturing and mobile robotics to hairdressing and graphic design.
