SAVUSAVU, Fiji (June 18, 2015) A Fijian man presents a cup of Kava to Capt. Christopher Engdahl, Pacific Partnership 2015 mission commander, during a PP15 closing ceremony in Savusavu, Fiji. A closing ceremony was held in Savusavu, Fiji, to thank the crew from the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) for all the medical, veterinarian and engineering services and projects provided. Mercy is currently underway to its next stop of PP15, Papua New Guinea. Pacific Partnership is in its tenth iteration and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership missions to date have provided real world medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary services to more than 38,000 animals.
