Aviation boatswain’s mates fuels prepare for flight deck operations next to a CH-53E Super Stallion aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) June 9, 2015. AV-8B Harrier jets were practicing short takeoffs and vertical landings. The Super Stallion is with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), currently attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit as part of the aviation combat element. The AV-8B Harrier jets are with Marine Attack Squadron 311, currently assigned to 31st MEU as part of the aviation combat element.
