An AV-8B Harrier jet is ready for takeoff aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), June 9, 2015. The pilots practiced short takeoffs and vertical landings. The aircraft are with Marine Attack Squadron 311, currently assigned to 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit as part of the aviation combat element. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward deployed MEU in the Marine Corps and is currently conducting Fall Patrol 2015. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Abbey Perria/Released)
