Rich Snook, ground operations deputy team chief, discusses obstacles to include in a natural disaster scenario June 4 for Tradewinds 2015 with U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Patrick Upshaw, ground operations master scenario events list manager. The two men are part of an 11-person team that design events to engage the 19 countries participating in the exercise. The combined, joint U.S. Southern Command-sponsored exercise strengthens the capacity of Caribbean nations to respond to natural disasters, humanitarian crises and counter transnational organized crime.
