Maj. Gen. Dan B. Allyn, deputy commanding general, XVIII Airborne Corps, hosted the 69th National Airborne Day celebration at the Airborne and Special Operations Museum in downtown Fayetteville, N.C., Aug. 15. Allyn's day began early this morning before the celebration saying farewell to 500 paratrooper headed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
